Quipping seems rather likely.

Most likely, he'd be a pop culture reference that's a part of the collective din I've become completely inundated with while somehow not actually being something I've seen or can even pin an image to.

I've never seen an episode of McGuyver, I only remember that it came on after Star Trek the Next Generation at 4 o'clock but I never watched it. I only saw commercials for it. Stuff got blown up.
I saw the made-for-t.v. movie, and was quite enthralled by it. It concerned the discovery of Atlantis. It was about 12 or so years ago, though, so I don't know if it would please me as much now.
